Huntington Ingalls Buys Engineering Services Firm S.M. Stoller; Matt Mulherin Comments

acquisitionHuntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) has purchased consulting and engineering services provider The S.M. Stoller Corp. for an undisclosed amount.

Stoller will operate as a subsidiary of Huntington Ingalls within the Newport News Shipbuilding division, HII said Thursday.

Matt Mulherin, HII corporate vice president and NNS president, said the acquisition is intended to grow Newport News Shipbuilding within the Energy Department, environmental management and nuclear services markets.

Stoller provides environmental, nuclear and technical consulting services to the U.S. government and nuclear power customers on remediation projects and to help assess local groundwater quality.

The engineering company has 18 offices across the U.S. and performs work 29 states.
