Boeing-Lockheed JV Awarded $939M for FY 2014 Air Force Launch Services

A 50-50 joint venture of Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has been awarded a $939, 085, 130 contract modification from the U.S. Air Force to help carry out launches during fiscal year 2014.

The modification for United Launch Services LLC, a business unit of United Launch Alliance, covers all-launch efforts on the Delta IV and Atlas V vehicle families, the Defense Department said Friday.

ULS LLC will work to integrate space vehicles with launch vehicles, sites, range and infrastructures under the cost-plus-incentive-fee modification.

Work will also include program management, systems engineering, range operations and infrastructure maintenance and sustainment.

The Air Force obligated $294, 314, 145 at the time of award and the joint venture will perform work through Sept. 30, 2014.
