Boeing Wins $4B Saudi F-15 Upgrade Sale

Boeing (NYSE: BA) has won a $3, 999, 660, 000 contract modification to convert 68 F-15 jets to the new F15S-A configuration, the Defense Department announced Friday.

This order falls under a foreign military sales agreement with Saudi Arabia, where Boeing holds a $30 billion agreement for the sale of 84 F-15s and upgrades to that country’s fleet.

The $11 billion sale of the jets was confirmed in March by the Pentagon, which said Saudi Arabia would buy the jets and related accessories while Boeing would also retrofit aircraft.

Under the latest upgrade contract, Saudi Arabia will also receive four base stand-up kits.

Work at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia is scheduled through Dec. 31, 2019.

Citing information from Robins, Reuters reports about 150 new or converted F-15SA jets will be supported or maintained at four Saudi bases.

The new upgrade deal is the base’s largest-ever foreign military sales contract, according to Reuters.
