ATK Wins $266M for Army Small Caliber Ammo

ATK has won $266 million in U.S. Army orders to produce small caliber ammunition for the branch, the company announced Monday.

The Arlington, Va.-based defense contractor will provide a variety of 5.56- and 7.62-milimeter and .50-caliber military ammunition.

Since 2000, the company has provided more than 11 billion rounds of ammunition to the military, said Kent Holiday, vice president and general manager of small caliber systems.

Work under the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract will occur at ATK’s Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, Mo.

The U.S. Army Contracting Command’s office in Rock Island, R.I. is the contracting activity.

In early Apri, l the Army awarded ATK $68 million for ammunition cartridges.
