Alion Names QinetiQ, SAIC Vet Terri Spoonhour to Head Simulation Group

Alion Science and Technology has appointed Terri Spoonhour group vice president and manager for the company’s distributed simulation group, the company announced Thursday.

She will lead a group providing software development, human-systems integration, systems engineering and support services to the Defense Department and civilian agencies.

Spoonhour most recently served as director of QinetiQ North America‘s operations in Orlando, Fla. and has also held operational roles with SAIC Inc. (NYSE: SAI), including as senior vice president of the=at company’s defense solutions group business.

Prior to that, she held program and project management positions at Quantum3D and Nations, a BTG company.

Those companies focus on image generation, modeling and simulation and training.

Alion currently supports customers including the U.S. Navy, which it is providing surface ship engineering support to on a $73.2 million contract.
