Harris to Support MDA Communication Networks, LA Air Force Base

The U.S. Air Force Space Command’s space and missile systems center has awarded Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS) an award to provide network support services to the Los Angeles Air Force Base.

Harris will deliver core IT and communications maintenance and operations services. These will include video teleconferencing services and network control center support.

The company will also provide information assurance and support to Missile Defense Agency networks.

The work will take place over 16 months and is worth $9.7 million.

“Harris has demonstrated its ability to utilize refined lifecycle management processes for mission-critical systems while maintaining industry-leading network uptime, ” said John Heller, president of IT services at Harris. “Our past performance serves as assurance of Harris’ knowledge and ability to maintain the reliability and efficiency of both common user networks supporting the Space and Missile Systems Center and specialized networks supporting the Missile Defense Agency.”
