Boeing has announced an agreement to team with Amplex, a Danish clean-technology company, to deliver an intelligent streetlight management system. The new system could reduce US cities energy consumption by as much at 35 percent.
Jan Närlinge, North European president, “This is an opportunity for Boeing and Amplex to offer a power and cost savings solution that can benefit every major city in the United States.”
Jens Hørup Jensen, chairman of Amplex, said “Streetlights are responsible for up to 40 percent of a municipality’s electricity budget and consume between 2 and 4 percent of the total electricity produced in the United States.” The partnership will bring together the clean technology solution developed by Amplex, AmpLight solution, with Boeing’s Energy Solutions.
