Jim Benbow, former chief business development officer at DCS Corp., has been promoted to the CEO post while Chief Operating Officer Randy Washington will add the title of president at the federal technical services contractor.
Former DCS President and CEO Jim Wood will retire and transition to the role of non-executive board chairman, DCS said June 1.
Alexandria, Virginia-based DCS offers technical products and services for military and government customers in the national security sector.
“Over the course of his career and as valued member of senior executive teams, Jim has demonstrated an exceptional working knowledge of the federal technology services sector and a proven ability to tailor structures and processes to deliver growth on a predictable and repeatable basis, ” said Wood.
Benbow will oversee the companys growth strategy, employee culture and business support systems and functions in his new role.
The 30-year engineering and management veteran has worked at DCS for 17 years and previously held business development roles at Titan Corp. and Horizons Technology.
Washington heads DCS’ operating units and manages the company’s customer and employee engagement.
He joined the company in 1987 and has since assumed engineering, line management and executive leadership positions including service as program manager for U.S. Army and U.S. Navy contracts.
The electrical engineering graduate also worked at Texas Instruments where he designed software and hardware for ground vehicle electronics systems.
