Harris to Provide Digital Map Computers for Navy, Kuwait on IDIQ Modification

Harris Corp.’s (NYSE: HRS) government communications systems division will produce and support 125 digital map computers for the U.S. Navy and the governments of Kuwait, Malaysia and Finland.

Harris will also provide 49 digital video map computers for the Navy and 43 extension housings for Kuwait and nine extension housings for Malaysia in support of multiple aircraft platforms.

The company will perform the work on a $8, 095, 188 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-priced indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

Seventy-percent of the contract funds are for Navy items. Twenty-two percent are for Kuwait items, 5.1 percent are for Malaysia items and 2.5 percent are for Finland items, under the Foreign Military Sales program.

Work will be performed in Melbourne, Fla., and is expected to be completed in June 2013. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
