A BAE Systems business unit has received a five-year, $86.9M contract to engineer Link 16 terminals designed to help U.S. and international defense customers transmit voice and data communications. BAE's information and electronic systems integration group will perform engineering and integration work on Multifunctional Information Distribution System-Low Volume Terminals under the sole-source, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Department of Defense said Monday.

The Koa Lani joint venture has won a potential 10-year, $854M contract to help the U.S. Navy manage the Pacific Missile Range Facility in Hawaii. The U.S. Air Force has released a draft solicitation for a program to develop, test, demonstrate, integrate and deliver prototypes in the areas of command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance using Agile procurement methods. A beta SAM notice posted Thursday says the Air Force Research Laboratory plans to award the Open Technology and Agility for Innovation program as an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity-type other transaction agreement for prototype projects with a ceiling value of approximately $499M, project ordering period of five years and project performance of up to two years.
