Yasser Ibrahim Joins Axon as Artificial Intelligence SVP

Yasser Ibrahim, former science and engineering leader at Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN), assumed the role of senior vice president of artificial intelligence at public safety technology provider Axon (Nasdaq: AAXN) on March 9. He will report to Jeff Kunins, Axon’s chief product officer and executive VP of software, as he leads the AI team through the company’s Seattle-based global software hub and works with an independent board that seeks to deploy AI technologies with an ethical design framework, Axon said Wednesday.

Report: DoD Requests 120 Days to Review JEDI Contract Award Decision

The Department of Defense said it intends to “reconsider certain aspects” of its move to award the potential 10-year, $10B Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure cloud computing contract to Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), GeekWire reported Thursday. DoD asked the court for 120 days to review the contract decision and reconsider its assessment of the bidders’ “online marketplace offerings,” according to a motion for voluntary remand obtained by the publication.
