Former Intelsat CEO David Wajsgras has been named to the HawkEye 360 board of directors. An eight-time Wash100 Award winner, he brings to the HawkEye board more than 25 years of experience as a senior aerospace and defense executive, the company said Thursday.
According to Wajsgras’ LinkedIn profile, he served as Intelsat CEO for more than three years, during which he led the company’s strategic transformation to a multi-orbit satellite telecom network that eventually saw Intelsat merging with SES in July.
Wajsgras’ Career Highlights
Before his Intelsat engagement, Wajsgras had a stint of more than 14 years at Raytheon, where he served last as president of the company’s intelligence, information and services business. In performing the role, he transitioned the division’s digital modernization and mission systems integration.
His past experience also includes more than six years as executive vice president and chief finance officer at Lear Corp. In addition, he had previously served as Engelhard Corp.’s controller, after holding various financial management positions at Honeywell International.
Wajsgras earned a master of business administration degree in finance from the American University and a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Maryland.
John Serafini, HawkEye 360 CEO, noted that Wajsgras’ leadership track record in high-impact technology ventures aligns with the company’s goal of providing reliable satcom services. “His strategic acumen and proven leadership will be instrumental as we continue delivering actionable insights that help our customers make confident decisions and accomplish their most critical missions,” Serafini said.
