The company said Thursday it will help the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center prototype and test hardware, software and cybersecurity platforms and accelerate technology integration across the service branch.
Viasat will support AFLCMC in the contract’s three categories: development planning, systems development and synthetic environment development.
AFLCMC’s architecture and integration directorate uses the IDIQ contract vehicle to work with industry vendors to rapidly transition technology from laboratory to operational use; incorporate emerging systems, hardware and software into existing systems; and build advanced models and simulations to perform operational assessments.
“Resilient communications and communications security are critical for military operations, and the USAF has been clear they need to move technology from development to at-scale operational use quicker than ever,” said Susan Miller, president of Viasat Government.
