Ronald “Fog” Hahn stepped down from his role as chief growth officer at Astrion after over two years of service to the defense, space and intelligence technology provider.
Hahn joined Astrion as CGO in 2023. In the role, he oversaw the company’s growth strategy, including efforts to capture government contracts.
Before Astrion, the executive also held the CGO role at Client Solutions Architect, a company providing technology and operational support services to defense and federal government agencies.
Prior to CSA, he was an executive vice president at Amentum, where he oversaw mergers and acquisitions, competitive intelligence, business development and other activities.
Hahn’s GovCon career also includes leadership positions at AECOM, where he spent five years as EVP, and URS Corp.
Earlier in his career, he served as Special Operations Command chief for the Department of the Air Force.
Hahn has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree in military science from the Marine Corps University.
What Is Ronald Hahn’s Approach to Contract Capture?
“Companies tend to fall into a ‘first in, first served’ scenario with bid and proposal—or B&P—if you don’t have a set strategy,” he explained. “Regardless of size, this issue persists. You’ve got to keep your B&P dollars focused on the best opportunities for your customers, warfighters, and the company.”
He also said it is critical for companies to start the capture process early because last-minute bids have low win rates.
