Tim Solms, Sean Berg Take VP Roles at Forcepoint’s Global Governments Business

Austin, Texas-based cybersecurity firm Forcepoint has appointed two new executives to vice president positions as the company works to deliver cyber capabilities to government clients worldwide.

Tim Solms, formerly VPÂ for federal business and managing director of worldwide government atÂ Juniper NetworksÂ (NYSE: JNPR), will serve as senior VP and general manager of Forcepointâ€™s global governments business and will directly report to CEO Matthew Moynahan through the companyâ€™s Herndon, Virginia-based office, Forcepoint said Monday.

Solms will oversee Forcepointâ€™s growth strategy for the global governments business, hold profit and loss responsibilities, lead the companyâ€™s expansion efforts in insider threat and cross-domain markets for domestic clients and facilitate delivery of cyber capabilities to international customers.

Solms is an 18-year U.S. Army veteran who held senior leadership roles focused on government clients at technology firms such as Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), VMware (NYSE: VMW) and Dell.

Sean Berg, formerly VP of public sector at Polycom, has joined Forcepoint as VP of sales for global governments business.

Berg will directly report to Solms, facilitate partnerships with network, insider threat security and cloud security businesses to advance delivery of intelligent security platforms and oversee all local and international sales efforts through Forcepointâ€™s office in Virginia.

He worked at Dell for 15 years and held the role of executive director of the firmâ€™s defense and intelligence business.

Prior to Dell, Berg served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an infantry officer.

Forcepoint is a joint venture of Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) and Vista Equity Partners that started under the name of Raytheon|WebsenseÂ in 2015.
