In a LinkedIn post published Wednesday, SMX said Lehr brings to the company over three decades of experience driving organizational and P&L growth through the delivery of mission-critical platforms across intelligence, national security and aerospace sectors.
In this capacity, Lehr oversees a team of engineers and scientists that leverages advanced visualization and analytical capabilities to deliver operational software that turns raw remote-sensing data into actionable intelligence.
In a separate post announcing his move, Lehr said he is excited to work with the SMX leadership and outside analytics teams to continue delivering advanced visualization and analytical software to the warfighter.
Michael Lehr’s Defense & Aerospace Industry Experience
Prior to SMX, Lehr was senior director of space systems and advanced programs at General Atomics, where he helped oversee satellite programs for the U.S. Space Force, NASA and other government and military customers.
The U.S. Air Force veteran spent over a decade at Sierra Nevada Corp., where he held various roles, including senior director of strategic programs and director of non-standard aviation programs.
He has held program management roles supporting national security customers at L3 Technologies and Raytheon, now part of RTX.
The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology electrical engineering graduate holds a master’s degree in systems management from Notre Dame de Namur University.
