He will oversee cyberthreat intelligence, incident response, risk mitigation, cyber compliance, vulnerability management, training, operations, strategy and other aspects of cybersecurity in his role as CISO, GDIT said Wednesday.
“Justin’s deep expertise in cybersecurity will be vital in protecting our technology and information assets as well as meeting our customers’ mission requirements,” said James Hannah, global chief information officer and senior vice president for supply chain at GDIT.
DePalmo previously served as CISO of General Dynamics’ ordnance and tactical systems business unit and was responsible for the unit’s cybersecurity strategy and cyber controls management and implementation.
He is a member of General Dynamics’ cyber council and was a cybersecurity subject matter specialist for the company’s internal audit program between 2018 and 2019. He also participates in external committees that address cybersecurity-related best practices within the public sector.
