David Epperson, formerly chief information security officer at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, has joined the public sector team of artificial intelligence cloud technology provider H2O.ai, GovCon Wire has learned.
“We are very excited to have Dave join our growing Public Sector team, his hiring illustrates our commitment to Security and Compliance for our products and processes. His unique skill set will help shape our AI Cyber strategy and focus on the public sector’s mission needs,” Ro Dhanda, vice president of public sector at H2O.ai, said in a statement.
Dhanda added that Epperson’s skill set will enable the company to focus on the public sector’s mission requirements and help shape its AI cyber strategy.
Epperson was responsible for risk exposure management and enterprise security governance as CISO at the Department of Homeland Security’s cyber agency. Prior to becoming CISO, he led the office of chief information officer at CISA. His two-decade career at DHS included time as deputy CIO of the national protection and programs directorate and web specialist at the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
