Information technology services firm BRMi has acquired Frederick, Md.-based government contractor DMS in a push to expand its presence in the federal health IT market and compete for new procurement vehicles.
BRMI said Tuesday it will operate DMS as a wholly owned subsidiary and Jim Racheff, DMS chairman and CEO, will continue to oversee the company’s daily operations.
DMS was established in 1981 and provides IT management support, data analytics, scientific programming and enterprise application management services to clients in the public health, biomedical research and small business sectors.
“Today’s announcement is a continuation of our commitment to better serve the government customer,” said Mike Battle, founder and CEO of BRMi. “Our program execution and automation core competencies combined with DMS’ health IT expertise and data analytics capabilities create a powerful new option for our government and commercial customers and has the potential to further empower data scientists to help cure disease and relieve suffering.
