Bechtel‘s plant machinery business has received a $229.7 million modification to a U.S. Navy contract for the delivery of naval nuclear propulsion components.
Ninety-eight percent of work will occur in Pennsylvania and the rest will take place in New York, the Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday.
The award is a modification to a potential $303 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract Bechtel Plant Machinery secured in late 2016 as part of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion program.
DoD said the obligated modification amount of $102.8 million at the time of award will not expire at the end of current fiscal year.
The Naval Sea Systems Command is the contracting activity.
