A Wisconsin-based subsidiary of Fincantieri has won a potential 15-year, $5.6B contract from the U.S. Navy to design and build up to 10 FFG(X) guided-missile frigates. Naval Sea Systems Command received four offers for the fixed-price incentive contract, which has a base value of $795.1M and covers engineering and class services, post-delivery availability support, training equipment, crew familiarization and provisioned item orders, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
