An Elbit Systems (NASDAQ: ESLT) subsidiary will install helmet display tracker system kits and tactical video data link systems on the U.S. Marine Corps‘ fleet of Bell AH-1W attack helicopters.
The Marine Corps awarded an $11.6 million contract to Elbit Systems of America for the helmet display tracker system kits and a separate $8.5 million contract for the tactical video data link systems, the company said Sunday.
“The AH-1W is on the front lines in the battle against those who wish to harm America, ” said Raanan Horowitz,  president and CEO Elbit Systems of America.
Horowitz also said the company aims to give the Marines “capabilities and a level of safety never before experienced.”
HDTS kits contain night vision, weapons sighting and weapons control features and the TVDL systems work to acquire information for aircrews via on-board sensors or external sources.
