William Hernandez, formerly chief financial officer and senior vice president at chemical manufacturer PPG Industries, has been elected to the board of directors at Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC).
Hernandez’ election increases the number of Northrop board members to 13 and 12 of the directors are not employees, the company said Friday.
“His extensive corporate experience and financial expertise will contribute to our company’s focus on performance for our shareholders, customers and employees, ” said Wes Bush, Northrop chairman, president and CEO.
Before PPG, Hernandez held leadership positions at Borg-Warner Corp. and Ford Motor Co.
The certified management accountant has also taught management and finance at Marietta College and serves on the boards of Albemarle, Black Box and USG.
Hernandez holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
