Former NRC Deputy CIO Thomas Boyce Joins ActioNet as Applied Innovation VP

ActioNet Inc. has appointed former U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Deputy Chief Information Officer Thomas Boyce as the company’s vice president for applied innovation.

The Vienna, Va.-based firm said he assumed his new position Monday following his retirement from the NRC the previous Friday, where he also served as chief privacy officer.

He will report to President and CEO Ashley Chen in his new position, who said Boyce brings CIO-level experience and a results-focused record of innovation to ActioNet.

Boyce will work closely with customers in order to align their technology strategies for mobile, cloud and cybersecurity solutions with the company’s mission objectives.

Since 2008, he has helped NRC transform its information services office from an infrastructure support group to a program sought out for its technical and project leadership.

The company credited him with bringing financial discipline to the organization and sustained service quality despite a $20 million reduction to his office’s budget.

Boyce previously served in the National Institutes of Health’s Electronic Research Administration and as CIO for the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research.
