- DCS has appointed Rick Castiglia as executive vice president, general counsel, chief ethics officer and corporate secretary
- Castiglia will bring more than two decades of experience in government contracts law and defense industry leadership
- The executive will oversee DCS’s legal strategy, ethics programs and corporate governance efforts
Rick Castiglia, a longtime legal executive at Cubic, has been appointed executive vice president, general counsel, chief ethics officer and corporate secretary at DCS, the company announced Tuesday.
Who Is Rick Castiglia?
Castiglia is a government contracts attorney and defense industry executive with more than 20 years of experience advising contractors on legal, regulatory and compliance matters. He joins DCS after serving as general counsel of Cubic’s Global Defense Group for 21 years.
Prior to that, he worked at several government contracts law firms, specializing in intellectual property and data rights, contract claims, bid protests, export controls and compliance matters.
Before entering the private sector, Castiglia served as an Honors Program attorney with the Department of the Air Force’s Office of the General Counsel, where he launched the Air Force’s Procurement Fraud Remedies Program and represented the service in 109 bid protests before the Government Accountability Office.
What Will Castiglia Do at DCS?
In his new role, Castiglia will lead DCS’s legal strategy and oversee the company’s ethics and corporate governance programs. He will also serve as a key adviser to executive management and the board of directors.
DCS Chairman and CEO Jim Benbow said Castiglia’s background in government contracts law and defense-sector leadership will help strengthen the company’s legal, ethics and governance functions as DCS continues to expand its operations. In recent months, DCS has expanded its capabilities through the acquisition of ARCTOS Technology Solutions and secured a $95 million Air Force Research Laboratory contract to support multi-domain sensing analysis.
