The U.S. Department of Agriculture has partnered with Palantir Technologies under a $300 million blanket purchase agreement, or BPA, to support the National Farm Security Action Plan and enhance service delivery to U.S. farmers.
What Does the USDA-Palantir Agreement Cover?
The agreement focuses on reinforcing farm security and enhancing program delivery across the department’s Farm Production and Conservation mission areas, with Palantir providing operational software to build on USDA’s existing capabilities. This is intended to strengthen service delivery for farmers and field staff and help protect the U.S. food supply.
The effort is also meant to address fraud, abuse and foreign influence targeting agricultural programs while supporting broader national security objectives tied to farmland protection.
How Does the Initiative Support Farmers?
The BPA supports USDA’s “One Farmer, One File” initiative, a key component of the agency’s modernization efforts, which aims to streamline access to services and reduce administrative burdens. Farmers can utilize digital tools to enroll in programs, report acreage and access services online, while USDA field personnel can use them to enhance operational efficiency.
Built on the Palantir-powered Landmark platform, USDA previously supported the launch of the Farmer Bridge Assistance Program, which saw strong early online enrollment and delivered billions in payments within days. The platform integrates legacy systems into a secure, unified foundation, lowering maintenance needs, strengthening data security and allowing faster response to evolving priorities.
Other Palantir Programs Across Government
The USDA deal adds to Palantir’s growing federal work, including its role in developing software for the $185 billion Golden Dome missile defense system and a $385.4 million contract awarded by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
