Obviant has received a contract expansion from the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment to deliver a digital acquisition platform in support of the Department of War’s Acquisition Transformation Strategy.

As DOW accelerates acquisition modernization through initiatives like Obviant’s expanded contract, the push for digitization and data-driven decision-making continues to reshape the defense landscape. The Potomac Officers Club’s 2026 Digital Transformation Summit, set for April 22, will convene leaders from across the GovCon community to discuss evolving priorities in digital innovation. Register today to join the conversation.
The company said Thursday the award marks a transition from a Defense Innovation Unit prototype other transaction agreement to a broader implementation effort.
In November, Obviant secured a $99 million prototype OTA award from DIU to provide an operating platform intended to consolidate defense acquisition, contracting and budgeting data.
How Will the Obviant Platform Support the DOW Acquisition Transformation?
According to Obviant, the data intelligence platform will integrate disparate data sources to help acquisition professionals improve analytical insight and make faster, data-driven decisions. The platform will combine open-source intelligence data core with government authoritative data systems to establish a single, consolidated data environment.
The company added that it will collaborate with military services to deliver the platform across the department’s acquisition enterprise. The initiative aligns with the Secretary of War’s Acquisition Transformation Strategy, which calls for digitizing the acquisition system and implementing portfolio scorecards.
What Did Obviant CEO Brendan Karp Say About the DOW Contract Expansion?
Brendan Karp, co-founder and CEO of Obviant, said the company will support the department’s push for increased speed, flexibility and execution discipline in acquisition operations.
“This initiative will deliver trusted, decision-grade acquisition intelligence, so leaders can move faster, manage risk earlier, and get capability to the warfighter sooner,” Karp added.
