What Is the Scope of BAE Systems Paladin Contract?

The company said Wednesday it will deliver 40 additional M109A7 Paladin howitzer sets, each paired with an M992A3 Carrier Ammunition Tracked vehicle that supports ammunition resupply operations for artillery units. In addition, the contract covers supplemental services, including post-production refurbishment, technical support packages and welding compliance requirements.

What Are the Contract Details?

The deal, awarded by the Army Contracting Command-Detroit in September, is the first award under a five-year agreement. The M109A7 Paladin is manufactured at facilities in York, Pennsylvania; Elgin, Oklahoma; and Anniston, Alabama.

“The M109A7 Paladin Self-Propelled Howitzer provides the firepower and operational advantage Soldiers need on the modern battlefield,” said Dan Furber, program director of artillery and combat support at BAE Systems Combat Mission Systems. “This platform gives warfighters the decisive edge in any conflict, and we are looking forward to continuing to provide this proven capability to the U.S. Army.”

Previous BAE Systems Paladin Contracts

BAE Systems has secured multiple Army contracts in recent years tied to the M109A7 Paladin program, including a $423.3 million contract awarded to its Land & Armaments business in May 2025. Earlier awards include a $418 million contract in January 2024 and a two-year, $299 million order issued in July 2022.
