CMS Awards 6 Companies Spots on Potential $5B National Education Campaign & Outreach Contract

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has awarded six companies spots on a potential seven-year, $5 billion National Education Campaign and Outreach Contract, or NEC.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Senior Adviser and Chief of Staff, Gita Deo, and Acting Director of Infrastructure Operations, Wade Zarriello, will serve as guest speakers at the Potomac Officers Club’s 2025 Healthcare Summit on Dec. 4. What Are the Details of the National Education Campaign & Outreach Contract?

According to the award notices published on the Federal Procurement Data System, the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covers the delivery of services supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of national integrated communications campaigns. The selected companies are:

  • Edelman
  • Fors Marsh Group
  • IPG DXTRA
  • Ketchum
  • Ogilvy
  • Porter Novell

The contractors will be eligible to compete for task orders covering services such as developing data-driven campaign strategies, producing health- and program-related materials and managing media planning and buying for CMS. They may also conduct digital advertising and social media outreach, create earned media campaigns, measure campaign effectiveness through data analysis and carry out formative research to collect consumer insights and document program requirements.

The contracts were awarded on Sept. 22, with the last date to order set for Aug. 31, 2032.
