George Bobb III Assumes CEO Role at Teledyne

Teledyne Technologies appointed George Bobb III as president and CEO, effective immediately. Bobb succeeds Edwin Roks, who announced his retirement after two decades at the company, Teledyne said in a press release Monday.

Roks will remain as special adviser to Robert Mehrabian, executive chair of Teledyne, until Aug. 31.

Who is Teledyne’s New Chief Executive?

Before his appointment to the CEO role, Bobb was president and chief operating officer of Teledyne for over a year. He joined the Thousand Oaks, California-headquartered company in 2008 as an associate segment counsel for engineered systems.

Prior to Teledyne, the executive served as counsel for national security law and policy at the Department of Justice. He also worked as an associate attorney at DeForest Koscelnik Yokitis & Kaplan.

Earlier in his career, Bobb was a lieutenant of the U.S. Coast Guard.

“George has worked with me at Teledyne for 17 years and has excelled at every assignment given to him, including most recently as Teledyne’s President and Chief Operating Officer,” Mehrabian said about the new CEO. “Together, George and I will continue the development and execution of Teledyne’s growth strategy, with George reporting directly to me.”

Edwin Roks Steps Down

Roks has been CEO of Teledyne since January 2024. Before becoming Teledyne’s chief executive, he served as the company’s executive vice president and segment president for digital imaging.

His resume also includes leadership roles at Philips, where he spent over 15 years of his career.

“Edwin has been a strong contributor to Teledyne’s growth in the digital imaging area and the advancement of technology across our business portfolio,” Mehrabian stated.
