Howland announced her appointment at the McLean, Virginia-based consulting firm in a LinkedIn post published Monday.
The Guidehouse executive brings over 25 years of experience in cybersecurity and information assurance to the role.
She has led cyber teams for public and private companies and combined federal and commercial approaches to develop new methodologies and processes related to security operations, policy, governance, vulnerability management, risk and compliance.
According to her profile on the professional networking site, Howland was CISO at Maxar Technologies before joining Guidehouse.
She has held senior cybersecurity roles at several technology and professional services companies, including Perspecta, CSRA, Blue Canopy, Camber, Avaya Government Solutions, Nortel Government Solutions and Ernst & Young.
