Dallas-based private equity firm Trive Capital has acquired Hypergiant Industries, an artificial intelligence-based software provider, for an undisclosed sum as part of efforts to complement its portfolio company Forward Slope.
Hypergiant CEO Mike Betzer will continue to oversee the AI defense platform company, according to a joint release published Tuesday.
Founded in 2018, Hypergiant focuses on developing AI software for organizations in defense, space and critical infrastructure sectors. It has developed CommandCenter, a geospatial data visualization and actions platform that works to provide insights and threat analysis across domains by ingesting and processing large volumes of data.
Hypergiant’s customers include the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Space Force, NASA, the U.S. Army, the National Reconnaissance Office, Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) and Boeing (NYSE: BA).
Hypergiant is developing the Common Battle Management Interface for Cloud-Based Command and Control using Amazon EC2 or the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud platform and edge computing hardware to generate insights and provide situational awareness for decision-makers and warfighters.
“Flexible, scalable, and secure cloud-based tools are a must for satisfying government customer requirements well into the future, and we are committed to supporting Hypergiant’s efforts,” said Clint Crosier, director of aerospace and satellite solutions at Amazon Web Services.
