Three executives at Red Cell Partners, an incubator focused on the national security and health care markets, have created a company to develop artificial intelligence-based software for military logistics use.
Red Cell Operating Partner Paul Selva, CEO Grant Verstandig and President Yisroel Brumer established DEFCON AI with an overall goal of helping defense customers make decisions at the operational level with the use of AI technology, the incubation firm said Tuesday.
Selva, a retired U.S. Air Force general and former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, serves as chief strategy officer of the newly formed venture.
Verstandig and Brumer will hold the executive chairman and CEO titles at the software company, respectively.
“If the U.S. military is going to modernize and maintain its overmatch against China and Russia in the years ahead, then there needs to be a much different and better relationship between the Pentagon and the most innovative sectors of our economy,” said Esper, a three-time Wash100 Award recipient.
