https://govconwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/israel-to-buy-lockheed.mp3 Israel intends to purchase a dozen CH-53K helicopters, built by Lockheed Martin’s (NYSE: LMT) Sikorsky subsidiary, and a pair of KC-46 aerial refueling aircraft, produced by Boeing (NYSE: BA), through an approximately $3.1 billion agreement signed with the U.S. government , Reuters reported Friday.
The Israeli defense ministry expects to receive the initial helicopters sometime in 2026 as part of modernization efforts for the country’s air force.
According to the report, the agreement includes an option for the procurement of six more CH-53K units.
The Sikorsky CH-53K is designed to function in heavy-lift military operations, while the Boeing KC-46 is intended to primarily refuel fixed-wing aircraft platforms.
