Salesforce Launches FedRAMP Certified Government Cloud Plus; Dave Rey, Teresa Carlson Quoted

Salesforce (NYSE: CRM) has launched Government Cloud Plus, a multitenant cloud infrastructure specifically isolated for U.S. federal, state, and local government customers, contractors and federally funded research and development centers, the company announced Thursday.

“Government Cloud Plus will empower governments to respond and get ahead of demand by providing modern, compliant and secure experiences for their customers while scaling their mission impact, accelerating digital transformation, and rapidly responding to the ever-evolving regulatory environment we operate in,” said Dave Rey, president of Salesforce’s global public sector business.

Government Cloud Plus has achieved a FedRAMP Provisional Authority to Operate at the High Security Impact Level, giving customers a compliant and secure environment to deploy Salesforce’s 360 CRM platform and industry services.

Salesforce’s platform is built on Amazon Web Service GovCloud to support security and compliance controls that allow customers to use Salesforce for the most sensitive, unclassified data. Salesforce will also support continuous monitoring services provided by the FedRAMP Joint Authorization Board to detect changes to the security posture of the system in order to make better risk-based decisions.
