Pavilion Data Systems Secures VMware vSphere 7 Certification; Sudhanshu Jain, Gurpreet Singh Quoted

Pavilion Data Systems has announced VMware vSphere 7 certification and presence on VMware’s Compatibility Guide, the company reported on Tuesday.

“vSphere 7 is one of the most significant vSphere releases in a decade,” said Sudhanshu Jain, director of product management, Cloud Platform, VMware. “We are pleased to work with Pavilion on NVMe-oF to support its Hyperparallel Flash Array for the benefit of our mutual customers.”

Pavilion Data Systems is one of the first storage array vendors to support VMware vSphere 7 using RDMA-over-Converged Ethernet (RoCE v2). The company’s Hyperparallel Flash Array certification, combined with VMware vSphere 7.0 that has integrated NVMe-over Fabrics, will advance its performance boost and increase storage density for VMs and containers.

In addition, the backward compatibility for NFS and iSCSI will enable customers to run multiple protocols simultaneously in Pavilion's Hyperparallel Flash Array, which will augment storage performance and density for VMs and persistent containers. With multi-protocol support, organizations can easily consolidate VMs, migrate to containers and modernize hybrid clouds.

“Certification for vSphere 7 extends our leadership from Webscale and HPC customers directly into Large Enterprises where VMware is a significant operating environment,” said Gurpreet Singh, Pavilion CEO.  “Our proof of hyperparallel for the intersection of big and fast data is ideally suited to the hybrid cloud and modern applications and customer profiles VMware is targeting.”

Pavilion also recently announced  HPCinnovation.com, a thought leadership storage solution website, to bring awareness to the third wave of storage for High Performance Computing (HPC) environments in early May 2020

HPCinnovation’s third wave of storage, developed by disruptive technologies including NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF), Hyperparallel Flash Arrays (HFAs) and RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE), has the potential to fundamentally reshape the storage market by offering users affordable performance at scale.

The third wave of storage began with NVMe which freed SSDs from legacy disk interfaces. HFAs then eliminated the bottlenecks imposed by the legacy dual-controller architecture of All Flash Arrays (AFAs) with a switch-like design enabling multiple controllers to access storage simultaneously to deliver unprecedented performance.

About Pavilion

Pavilion is the inventor of the world’s first Hyperparallel Flash Array. Built for NVMe and fabrics from the ground up. Pavilion is redefining storage to put real-time performance at scale within reach of all. We provide unmatched storage performance and density, without the cost and complexity of traditional storage. Pavilion shatters performance expectations enabling modern cloud and modern applications with scale-out performance to help organizations make better decisions faster.
