IBM (NYSE: IBM) has received a potential 10-year, $149 million contract to provide new human resource and time and management systems for General Services Administration personnel and external customers.
The company will develop self-service HR and T&A systems that GSA customers will be able to access with mobile platforms and help the agency reduce duplicate entries into non-integrated systems, GSA said Tuesday.
The agency sought IBM’s system services as part of an initiative to divest technology services under the agency’s HR Line of Business Shared Services program in order to focus on core missions.
GSA’s HR Line of Business collaborates with other agencies and service providers to identify strategies for the management and interoperability of HR systems in the federal government.
The LOB also uses a shared service center approach along with a common, reusable architecture to facilitate delivery of governmentwide HR services.
