The long-time Lockheed Martin executive will direct all financial aspects for programs within the MFC business unit, including business development, execution, forecasting and reporting.
Petro’s Career Highlights
Petro, who has been with the company for over 23 years, previously served as VP and controller for the MFC business area for over two years. In this role, he oversaw financial planning, accounting, government compliance and financial systems transformation for the MFC. He was also the business operations director for the integrated fighter group within LM Aeronautics, while simultaneously holding the role of chief financial officer of the LM commercial engines, or LMCES.
The executive served as director of finance and business operations for nearly four years, handling the financial aspects of the military simulation and training portfolio. He was also appointed CFO and director of finance of the commercial flight training business and senior manager of corporate development, where he was instrumental in executing acquisitions and joint venture campaigns. Early in his Lockheed career, he held various leadership roles related to accounting and finance.
Before joining the private sector, Petro was a canine enforcement officer for the U.S. Customs Service from 1997 to 2002 and a military police canine officer for the Army from 1991 to 1996.
