Robert Linger Named Leidos VP for Information Advantage

Robert Linger has been elevated to vice president for information advantage at Leidos.

The Reston, Virginia-based IT company said Tuesday Linger is tasked with overseeing the efforts of federal agencies to leverage automation and artificial intelligence to gather actionable information from complex data.

As the VP of information advantage, Linger has already spearheaded the establishment of a secure and centralized large language model platform for the company, paving the way for the deployment of in-house innovations. He is also focusing on optimizing operations and delivering AI capabilities by enhancing external partnerships and tackling integration issues.

“Robert’s expertise and visionary leadership will advance our information advantage practice, helping to position our customers to thrive in an increasingly data-centric environment,” said Steve Hull, president of digital modernization at Leidos. “His proven ability to bridge cutting-edge technologies with real-world mission requirements makes him a strong leader for this role,” the 2025 Wash100 Award winner added. 

Linger’s Career Achievements

Linger has spent over five years of his two-decade career at Leidos. Before his recent promotion, the former Marine served as an AI software architect for over a year. He was also a machine learning systems engineer and briefly served as a data scientist when he joined the company in 2019.

The Leidos executive worked at TMC Technologies of WV as the director of cyber programs and senior technical analyst. Before that, he spent six years at Pierpont Community and Technical College as VP and chief information officer. He also joined the political arena as a city councilman for Fairmont, West Virginia. He started as the owner and president of Reliable Systems Incorporated.
