Textron Aviation Defense has been awarded a five-year, $150 million contract to provide sustaining engineering and program management, or SEPM, services for the T-6 Texan II trainer aircraft fleet.

What Is the Scope of the T-6 Texan II SEPM Contract?

The Textron unit said Monday the award covers systems engineering, program oversight and support for maintenance, repairs and aircraft modifications for T-6A, T-6B and T-6D aircraft used by the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Army. The contract modification also covers integrity programs designed to maintain operational performance across the fleet. It extends the $95.1 million contract awarded in April 2021.

According to the contract announcement published by the Department of War, work for the follow-on contract will be performed in Wichita, Kansas and will run through April 12, 2031.

The Beechcraft T-6 Texan II is a military flight trainer used worldwide. Its low acquisition and operating costs support pilot training, and it has the largest fleet in its class. The aircraft has been in service for over 20 years and is supported by an active production line and supply chain.
