Peerless Closes Statheros Acquisition

Government services contractor Peerless Technologies has acquired defense firm Statheros for an undisclosed sum to expand its client base and capabilities in support of electromagnetic spectrum operations.

In a statement published Monday, Peerless President Andrea Kunk said the company has leveraged over two decades of experience in systems engineering services to support its strategic transformation into a provider of digitally enabled technologies and platforms.

“Our investment in Statheros enhances our recent internal investments in tools, processes, and internal research & development to align with the mission of our customers,” Kunk added.

Established in 2000, Peerless provides cyber and systems engineering support services for fielded systems in defense, intelligence and civil markets.

Accelerating Tech Delivery Strategy of Peerless

Peerless said the transaction accelerates its strategy of delivering technology and mission capabilities to customers and comes as the company continues to expand its Peerless Innovation Center, which is focused on advancing research and development efforts and capabilities in digital systems engineering, modeling and simulation, software engineering, open architecture and multispectral operations.

What Does Statheros Do?

Founded in 2021 by President David Murray, Statheros is a Knoxville, Tennessee-based company that provides applied R&D, engineering services for radio frequency systems, business consulting and technical staff augmentation support.

“This acquisition will catalyze our innovation activities,” Murray said.

The company’s core competencies include embedded RF system design and development, microservices frameworks and applications, open architectures and standards and distributed, high-performance software.
