The Naval Research Laboratory has issued a request for proposal for a potential $244 million contract for the procurement of radio frequency engineering, analytical and technical support services.
Advancing Aerospace Technology with Radio Frequency
According to the notice posted on SAM.gov Monday, the NRL is seeking potential contractors to provide support to its applied research and development program.
The R&D project involves the use of Focused Radio Frequency Optimized Signal Transference, or FROST. It aims to address the evolving aerospace technology with the intention of supporting the Navy’s mission.
The selected vendor will conduct space to ground research involving the transmission of energy to various objects in space using various radio frequencies. Objects receiving the transmitted energy will then be processed, while the results will be analyzed by other antennas located worldwide. The project will also be leveraged for the integration and enhancement of established systems.
The period of performance for this project is 36 months, including one base year and two option years.
Interested companies can send their responses until March 27.
