The company said Monday Hess will spearhead its growth in the field of EW technology while leading efforts to address the demands of the defense sector.

The ARA executive will leverage his extensive experience in program leadership and senior management into his new role. His deep understanding of signal intelligence and multi-functional airborne and radar systems will also be instrumental in fulfilling his new responsibilities.
Hess served as VP of the radar division at Aerostar International, where he supervised the company’s $30 million business line. He also held various program management roles for most of his career, including director of programs at Mercury Systems and director of strategic programs and program manager at Raytheon Applied Signal Technology, where he specialized in airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR, systems.
The ARA VP also served as senior program manager for defense solutions at Leonardo DRS, where he focused on ISR, SIGINT and EW hardware development. Hess started his career as an engineering program manager at Northrop Grumman. He served in that role for over 11 years, specializing in radar, ISR and EW systems for F-22 and F-35 fighter jets.
ARA President and CEO Logen Thiran stressed the significance of Hess’ expertise in the EW landscape and his experience managing multi-million-dollar programs. “His operational knowledge and strategic vision will be crucial as we continue to expand our capabilities and provide innovative solutions to keep our warfighters safe and secure,” said Thiran.
