Alpha Omega has appointed Stephen Ambrose to its newly established chief scientist role as part of its commitment to climate science.
The company said Monday Ambrose has more than 35 years of experience working in the public and private sectors, including at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NASA, Woolpert and General Dynamics Information Technology.
He most recently served as subject matter expert and solutions architect for programs at Science Applications International Corp.
Joann Gladden, senior vice president of climate science at Alpha Omega, said, “Alpha Omega is deeply committed to advancing climate science and Earth science technologies for the benefit of our customers and society at large.”
“Steve’s leadership and dedication to addressing climate challenges directly support the critical missions of NOAA, USDA, DHS and other key partners,” Gladden added.
As chief scientist, Ambrose will support Alpha Omega’s federal agency customers in achieving their missions, from safeguarding natural resources and reducing disaster impact to advancing weather and climate resilience.
