4 Vendors Awarded FAA Air Traffic Control Service Contracts

The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded four companies contracts worth $1.44 billion combined to provide mission-critical air traffic control services for approximately 264 Visual Flight Rules airports in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan and the U.S. Virgin Islands as part of the FAA Contract Tower program, or FCT.

According to an award notice published Wednesday, the contracts have one 14-month base performance period and six option years and cover 10 areas with Area 2 set aside for a small business.

FCT Program Contract Awardees

The awardees are CI2 Aviation, Midwest Air Traffic Control Services, Robinson Aviation and Serco Inc.

The Area 2 small business contract awarded to CI2 Aviation is valued at approximately $142.6 million.

Midwest Air Traffic Control Services secured the contracts for Areas 1, 4 and 5. The Area 1 contract is worth $200.8 million, while the contracts for Areas 4 and 5 are valued at $143.6 million and $173.8 million, respectively.

Robinson Aviation received the Area 3, 6, 8 and 10 contracts. The Area 3 contract is valued at approximately $217.4 million; Area 6 at $201.7 million; Area 8 at $141.2 million; and Area 10 at $36.9 million.

Serco’s U.S. arm booked the Area 7 and 9 contracts. The Area 7 contract is worth approximately $146.2 million and the Area 9 contract is valued at about $36.7 million.

FAA issued a solicitation for the FCT program in January.
