Michael Smith, a seasoned executive specializing in technical program leadership and direction, has been elevated to chief information officer at V2X, according to the executive’s LinkedIn post Sunday.
Smith spearheads V2X’s IT systems and operations worldwide while managing its cyber and information security and business applications. He is responsible for optimizing operations and ensuring IT initiatives align with the company’s strategy.
Michael Smith: Career Highlights
Smith most recently served as vice president of advanced applications and engineering prior to his promotion. Smith previously spent over five years at Vectrus as vice president of engineering and digital integration. He also worked as SENTEL for seven years, serving as VP of the sensor technology group and the engineering business unit.
Notably, the new V2X CIO stayed for more than 13 years at ITT starting in 1998. As the director of the scientific and engineering analysis group, Smith was responsible for developing and managing complex technical programs. Some of his tasks included developing new business forecasting, projecting sales outlook data and managing the group’s budgets and schedules.
Smith also worked for the Department of Defense early in his career. He was a research physicist for 13 years at the U.S. Army’s Edgewood Research Development and Engineering Center and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
