NASA has awarded eight companies positions on a potential $476 million multiple-award contract to acquire Earth observation data derived from small satellites operated by commercial entities.
The agency said Friday the awardees were selected as part of the first on-ramping process for the firm-fixed-price Commercial SmallSat Data Acquisition Program.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a performance period that will run through Nov. 15, 2028 and seeks to complement the observation data that NASA, other U.S. government and international agencies procure from commercial sources to support Earth science research and application activities.
In February, NASA issued a solicitation for the Commercial SmallSat Data Acquisition Program On-Ramp1 IDIQ contract.
