Collins Aerospace will deliver MAPS devices to the service branch, Army Watercraft and Marine Corps System Command as part of the recently executed MAPS Generation II delivery order 4, the Army said Friday.
MAPS is developed to provide warfighters with data even during missions in GPS-degraded or -denied environments. It is equipped into ground vehicles, watercraft, munition systems and other platforms.
The company will supply 1,212 MAPS devices to Army units, 29 to AWS and 400 to MARCORSYSCOM. The deliveries will bring the total MAPS devices purchase to 3,419 systems.
“This contract award solidifies the Army and [U.S. Marine Corps’] commitment to cutting edge military-code assured PNT solutions for mounted platforms,” said Lt. Col. Damian Dixon, product manager of Mounted PNT.
