Jones previously served as general manager of military avionics at the Melbourne, Florida-headquartered defense contracting company. The executive has been with L3Harris and its earlier brands since January 2003, climbing the ranks and assuming roles with increasing responsibilities.
His former positions at the company include technical director, senior director of engineering, executive program manager and senior director of F-35 development and senior program director of ADG.
ADG is an innovation accelerator L3Harris formed in 2022 to drive the development of new systems for domestic and international defense customers. At the time of its launch, it has 2,500 engineers, technicians, operations professionals and program managers responsible for developing sensors, unmanned platforms, weapons systems and multi-mission technologies.
