Rick Simpson, formerly chief financial officer at CB Insights, has assumed the CFO position at Exostar, a Herndon, Virginia-headquartered provider of cloud-based secure business collaboration software.
Simpson brings to the role three decades of experience overseeing corporate development, financial planning and analysis, human resources, corporate information technology and mergers and acquisitions for various companies, Exostar said Wednesday.
“Rick will play a key role in developing our business strategies and in planning, executing, and integrating acquisitions as we embark on the next phase of our corporate journey,” said Richard Addi, president and CEO of Exostar.
Simpson has held the CFO role at multiple companies, including ArisGlobal, Vispero, Kibo Commerce, Geneva Pipe and Appriss.
The appointment comes as Exostar aims to drive its growth strategy following its sale to private equity firm Arlington Capital Partners in November 2023.
